Personal Projects - Flashes Of Hope
One of the organizations that has quickly grown near and dear to my heart is Flashes of Hope - a national non-profit with a two-fold mission - first, to raise funds for childhood cancer research, while providing lasting memories of the brave kiddos battling life-threatening illnesses. The latter part of their mission requires setting up pop-up photo studios in hospitals, bringing in a professional photographer, hair and makeup stylist, and taking portraits of the kids and their families. The goal is to make the kids and families feel special, and to help break the normal day-to-day routine during their treatment.
In early 2014 I had the honor of being selected as one of the Flashes photographers for the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in San Francisco. Though I try to give back to the universe in many ways, this opportunity has given me way more in return than I feel I deserve. The kids and their families are truly brave and I'm honored to work for them.
The following gallery of images are some of the outtakes from our sessions.
